The Planning Systems Section assigns these numbers and they can be viewed in the IRIS Manual https://powerdms.com/docs/2013644For the MUNI_TINTS field contact OPP, Bureau of Planning, Mapping and Information Systems. The MUNI_TINTS field is used to render the towns features so that neighboring towns do not have the same color band.The Mapping Unit assigns MUNI_TINTS values from a range of 1-8 (1-4 are assigned to the towns that are located on the back side of the state map) that correlate to a color ramp so that no towns that border each other have the same color.
